on a side note, to date, i have spent $389.32 on energy drinks
i crave sleep.............yes, sleep.

| Just woke up with a bad hangover today....woke up on the floor at
Morgan and Luke's (fellow pharmacy students) place on the floor not
knowing how i got there.
I dont think this is a good way to start the first semester of Pharmacy School. *sigh*
Also just had my identity revealed to everyone yesterday being the youngest one in the class.
I
dont know how the other 87 people will react to it. I have a feeling
Im just going to get cockblocked everytime some one gets a chance.
on the other hand im considering pledging a professional fraternity....
Kappa Psi? anyone?
On
a side note tonight we hit up Corpus Christi and watched "My
bestfriends Girl" it was a pretty awesome movie. 8/10 rating. I put it
on par with "Wedding Crashers" or "Good Luck Chuck"
Coming
back to the apartments there was an undergrad party on the first floor.
I hate to say this, but this is USUALLY my type of party with alcohol
and lots of dancing. But for some reason, I didnt feel too comfortable
hopping in my neighbors party. maybe Ive changed as a person, or maybe
its the environment. I think that if i was in Houston I would have
definitely threw down HARD. but something came across me and I dont
know what or why.
I will occasionally update about pharm school because my life isnt very interesting. | | |
| I have not written a post in forever, so here is an update of my life post DeBakey. hmmm....where to start?
Lamar University Nice dorms. Suites as a matter of fact. two bedrooms, one bathroom, one living room, one roommate. =] Dining Hall, if you like golden corral and fried shit, then this is the place for you!!! its not that bad actually, new facility. The rec center is comparable to the one at UH except without the gigantic pool . =( The classes here are pretty easy for the most part. if you do your work, then you should be able to get an A, which explains why I dont have any A's. LOL
Testmasters Testmasters seems to be a bit crammed lately...a lot of 09ers prepping on the SAT already.... and there are always a couple of douchebags who seek attention by talkin non stop and who keep throwin shit at people. I really want to kick their ass. And the reason im still there is because i have yet to break a 2100 on the SAT. my 2090 is seriously pissing me off. with that said, there seem to be more hot chicks at testmasters to distract me from my critical reading passages. haha
Welch Summer Scholar @ UT Arlington Possibly the most productive summer in my life. Spent 6 weeks under the guidance of Dr. Singhal and Dr. Awasthi who taught me how to culture cells, run electophoresis gels, extract dna, purify protein, run MTT assays and the list goes on and on. What I essentially did was play with cancer cells and subject them to different types of chemical treatment to determine the concentrations need to reach IC 50 (meaning 50% death of cells). The point was to modify GST and Rlip76 protein transporters to attempt to shut down proteins and kill the cells. Every morning for 5 weeks it seems like it was a 9-5 job. woke up at 8 to get breakfast with dr. jimmy rogers who was in charge of us, and then the 8 welch scholars headed to different labs. I especially want to thank alex liu, richard hong, shelby r, grace kim, britt edwards, and katy machell for making this summer bearable and quite memorable. Aside from the research and work on the science paper, powerpoint presentation, and poster we also had fun. the guys hit the gym in the morning and in the afternoon, i played tennis at the UTA tennis courts. =] on weekends we went shopping, ice skating, movie hopping, and six flags!!!
UT Austin Honors Colloquium This was a pretty fun 3 day weekend spent on UT Austin campus. =] The purpose of it was to inform prospective students of the opportunites at UT austin.....which everyone was pretty clear about. We lived in Jester Hall for 2 nights which was pretty fun. saw herbie and jensi and a bunch of debakey people there. We played basketball, poker, bowled, played pool, attended some seminars and classes and hung out. Met up with Lucy Fang and we watched an awesome physics circus. Personally i thot it was a bit crazy to hang out with 800 strangers in 3 days but i guess it was fun while it lasted. Me herbie took the greyhound back to houston. lol
UH Pharmacy So at Lamar University, there is this UH- Lamar Co-op pharmacy program meant to give lamar university students the opportunity to go to pharmacy school. I wasnt suppose to apply because I wasn't technically a "university student" but i went ahead and did it. I filled out tons of paper and went to UH for an interview. and holy cow. i got in. so as long as i keep my gpa at lamar above a 3.2 and i get above 60 percent on each seciton of the PCAT, i will be guaranteed a spot in fall 2008. hmmm....the catch is....my grades are shit, and i sucked at biology on the PCAT. i got above 80 percent on every section except for freakin biology which i got a 52. i knew i shouldve paid more attention at debakey. CRAP!! but so right now im playing the gpa game and while im typing this, im suppose to be studying for the PCAT. The PCAT is the sole reason why my parents are being bitches and wont let me do anything until school starts...blahhh.......facebook time. hehe
and recently i just began my college applications....im really nervous.... i know i havent done well in school and my test scores arent exactly top notch...right now im crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.
FUTURE OK, I have no freakin clue what i want to do when I grow up. I dont even know what the hell i want to major in, in college. seriously, how is a 17 year old suppose to know what he wants to do for the rest of his life? My parents keep asking me and they are driving me up a wall. I cant stand it anymore. sometimes i feel like crying just out of cluelessness..... I DONT WANNA BE A BUM!!!!.......
if I dont get into any ivy league schools or even rice, i think i will do the UH pharmacy thing IF i can still hold on to it. becoming a pharmD at the age of 21 doesnt seem like a bad idea....maybe then i could go to NYU's Stern's School of Business and get an MBA in executive management or something....
o yea, and my love life has so called "gone to shit" after i went to lamar. dont ask why. because i really dont know.
right now, im missing my friends from debakey, middle school, and even elementary.... i want to hang out and just talk about life in general...

| being in college is kool i guess. earning college credit, living in a dorm, hanging out with a bunch of alcoholics, i guess thats wut college life is really like, Beaumont sux balls. There is absolutely nuthing to do here. Even the people who live here say so. their movie theatre sux, their mall is like sharpstown mall, and everything is like a 30 mile drive away. Funny thing is, there are a lot of small hick towns around beaumont. Every now and then, i meet some guy who's like , "White Power!" kinda reminds everyone ofchris thrift huh? even funnier is wen i ask them where they're from, and they say sumthin like: vidor, lumberton, or orange. (some piece o crap small towns nobody has ever heard of) then, i ask them wut their population size is, they say some number, and i say "Fuck you man! there are more people in China town houston than there are people in ur whole freakin county. so fuck off you stupid piece of shit. you can't get out of your little hick town and thats why you are representing ur literally "stupid" white supremacist hill billies. then, they shut the fuck up cuz i gotta help them with their college algebra homework. O yea, btw, i'm sure everyone has heard of "freshman 15" (the 15 lbs you gain ur freshman year). well, screw that, for me, make that "freshmen 25". Lamar university has a freakin 5 star college dining hall, which means that they serve ultra greasy food and everyone here needs to go to fat camp. And i'm not trippin about the "mi dangs" here or anyhting, but every single night, they have like some sort of black panther meeting in the student center. Aside from all the bullcrap that doesnt matter, life is good. I get about 12 hourse of sleep per day. I get out of class at 12pm everyday, and i can't seem to pick up any chicks with new belly. o wells. on the bright side, the tennis courts here are pretty badass, and there is this HOT japanese chick who plays on the womens tennis team. o yea, i also have a new obsession: "Skateboarding" even tho i've busted my ass on the concrete countless times. and i'm selling a brand new andy roddick pure drive racquet and a nadal racquet for $130 a stick ..... im goin to sleep now peace king bobo | | |
